Vizient Recognizes 14 Intermountain Health Hospitals for High-Quality Clinical and Patient Care

Vizient Quality and Accountability Study recognizes 14 Intermountain Health hospitals for exceptional commitment to safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

The Vizient 2026 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award has recognized 14 Intermountain Health hospitals for excellence in high-quality clinical and patient care.

The award recognizes hospitals that excel in the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, which measures performance in six categories: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness, and variation in care using 2025-2026 data.

"These awards recognize more than performance measures. They reflect thousands of everyday decisions made by caregivers who put patients first," said Cara Camiolo, MD, Intermountain Health Chief Quality and Safety Officer. "Maintaining this level of clinical quality and safety while navigating a major Epic implementation speaks to the skill, resilience, and commitment of teams across Intermountain Health. The following 14 Intermountain Health hospitals were named as top performers in their respective categories. First-time honorees include Intermountain Health Delta Community Hospital and Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital.
